Orient Express (also known as the Oriental Impress) is a popular choice for tourists visiting Sapa from Hanoi. With its long history of operation, Orient Express offers a number of seat types: VIP cabin that has 2 berth, private deluxe cabin with 4 berths, and deluxe cabins where you share the cabin with other passengers. If one walks past the Orient carriage, he or she will not go without noticing this special train: the artistic Oriental exterior design and high use of carved wood interior. Orient ticket price is on the average side of all Hanoi Sapa train which also explains its popularity.
Orient Express Train offers three kinds of cabins, including VIP 2-berths, deluxe 4-berths and 6 berths cabins. 6- berths or 4-berth cabins are great option for groups of travelers and families due to its large and cozy atmosphere, while the VIP 2-berth cabins with more privacy are ideal place for those who love to enjoy their trip with more tranquil and private space. All cabins have large glass-window for great view of country's landscape along the way.
Cabins of Orient Express Train are beautifully decorated. All cabins are wood-paneled and equipped with air-conditioners. Water and snacks are provided for free to passengers. Like all other trains, there are no toilet inside the cabin, but restrooms are conveniently located at both ends of each carriage.

The train and the cabin are decorated with the wooden décor which creates the cozy atmosphere. Cabin is quite small but fully equipped with basic amenities.

I booked the first class cabin which had more amenities compared to other cabin types. The sheets appeared to be clean but the mattress was hard and uncomfortable. The train supplied 4 bottles of water. I didn’t have high expectations so I think it was a good and safe trip.

The train and the cabin were both clean. Air conditioning worked well. I had a good sleep and met some new interesting friends (3 others who shared cabin with me). Travelling by train is the great way to save money and enjoy new experiences.

The decoration of the train is quite impressive with wooden décor. There are table lamp and some necessary amenities for a long drive. Waters and biscuits were freely provided.
