Coc Ly Market Tour (Tuesday)

While in Sapa, it would be a shame to miss out the chance to interact with the locals. With minimum physical requirement, visiting Coc Ly fair is the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the colorful event of the ethnic groups in Sapa. Your trip will start after breakfast at the hotel. You will then proceed to arrive at Lao Cai Railway station where you will board on a bus to go to Coc Ly. This is a 30km drive trip before reaching the destination. Like other fairs on the highlands, Coc Ly is the place for people to sell everything from local produce to the goods bringing from the delta or products from China. People go to the market not only for shopping but also for socializing, eating and interacting with others. The market is separated in different sections, such as the sale of cattle, horses for sale, the sale of fruits, and groceries. You are able to meet people from different minor communities, including Flower Hmong, Black Zao, Phu La, Nung and Tay. The trip also includes a one-way boat trip along Chay River and a walk to Trung Do village of Tay people. The river is beautiful and poetic with the two mountain ranges on either sides. The two river banks are beautiful sandy beaches, resided the villages of the Tay and H'mong. At the end of the trip, you will be picked up by our pre-arranged vehicles to transport back to Sapa town.
